More Of The Light Due (For Every Messy Remedy)

Sometimes life spins, swirling around until, we all nearly drown,

For dearly found, are all miracles now, that we never, wore down,

But most fall, short of where, they ever dreamed, they would be

By the time that fate, came calling late, to that old door, eternity …

Dormant lie, the wishes of a, stalwart few who, never lost a light

Torn up are all the, best laid plans, apart from just, keeping on by

Torn down are all those, old paradigms, about living life, on high

For during the times, of final challenges now, survivors, low fly …

We all wish for a new round now, a new turn in the world over and out,

A new eclipse of the times and tunes unto, other universes out of the blue,

In verses by volleys we stream one concious collective to be sure of our cues

For every version of right there is another that lets in more of the light due …

For every, messy, remedy … There will be another, new day now to pray

There will be another, new way to trade in, yesterday for all, better rays

There will be a fresh sun, saving us from, that long lost, darkness today

There will be a final place, to make amends, to make new friends, to say …

We all wish for a new round now, a new turn in the world over and out,

A new eclipse of the times and tunes unto, other universes out of the blue,

In verses by volleys we stream one concious collective to be sure of our cues

For every version of right there is another that lets in more of the light due …

One Second To Midnight

Let’s tell it straight to the heart of the arrow,

Where we all play it patiently to the last bow,

The last sling, the last slight, the last bitter row,

We row ourselves home everytime we so grow …

Seagrass and sarsaparilla seem so sweet to some …

Lemon juice and snake oil sliders go well alone …

Lustful felonies and fallen remedies all tangle on,

Those old fallacies about one being better than none …

Nothing have we ever wanted was always what was best,

Nothing have we ever sought for was ever really tested,

We just jumped, we just ran, we just did what one can,

To make the mark, to play their part, for that final dance …

For that final reckoning before the last sundown of a life

For that early second guessing about whether we did right

Whether we were brave whether we’d be considered again

To visit this Earth in this skin with this heart under this spin …

At One Second To Midnight … We’ll make it right … We will win …

Before those final gates come crashing down, riding out of town …

Escaping those fateful places where the last of us will lose our dust …

Drunk on those thought of getting free of these old useless dreams …

One Second to Midnight … We’ll make it right … We will dream …

One Second to Midnight … By that old moonlight … Rekindled again …
Reignited … Reunited … With our former selves … Prior to the fires …

Prior to the times we waned … When it seemed better to lose this lane …

One Second to Midnight … By that old moonlit … Rekindled again …

Reignited … Reunited … With our former selves … Prior to the fires …

Prior to the times we waned … When it seemed better to lose this lane …

When it seemed better to lose this lane … To lose this lane … This lane …

One Second to Midnight … One Second to Midnight … One Second

Oh One Second … One Second to Midnight … to Midnight … to Midnight

to Midnight … to Midnight … to Mid- … night …

to Midnight … to Midnight … to Mid- … night …

All Old Forgotten (We Spin Our Wheels)

So hitting up, all old forgotten, long dear haunts

For one more hit now of what it is we really want

We want what’s right, never what’s so very wrong

That we spin our wheels, to the tune of this song …

Sitting upon a new moon, in wonder now of it all

Something never fails to fall forever for innocence

Someone never fails to come calling in times of need

Someday never passes again without being redeemed …

Listening in on the chatter of those dark stars overhead

We might come someday to so dread what we know is left

But the mighty of us run our trials with no less an iron fist

Than to divine the right of keeping strong in spite of this …

So hitting up, all old forgotten, long dear haunts

For one more hit now of what it is we really want

We want what’s right, never what’s so very wrong

That we spin our wheels, to the tune of this song …

To serve ourselves one time is always enough to receive

The will of the universe in fleeting footprints in the dust

Leading us on to what matters most before the final dusk

Before we take that last dive beyond that great old divide …

So hitting up, all old forgotten, long dear haunts

For one more hit now of what it is we really want

We want what’s right, never what’s so very wrong

That we spin our wheels, to the tune of this song …

Local So Universal

Reaching deep inside to find the outer reaches,

Seeking signs that divide us from our speeches,

Each is equivalent to the ends of the earth in us,

Despite the thrust of it we would not have us lost …

Time is telling us it’s almost done, with us yet to win …

But lies are leaving us blind, to the cost of coming up,

With those precious times, when truth replies in kind …

We have all been deceived when we believe we are wise …

Local is so universal, you know it’s true, you’ve been there too …

One thing seems unique, then it comes to seem, forever repeating …

Local is so universal, you know it’s true, you’ve been there too …

Local is so universal … Local is so universal … Local so universal …

Local is so universal, you know it’s true, you’ve been there too …

One thing seems unique, then it comes to seem, forever repeating …

Time is true to be, life encapsuled in a rhyme, never off now tonight,

To light up is to alight, from all those darkling eyes, ever we espy …

Local is so universal, you know it’s true, you’ve been there too …

One thing seems unique, then it comes to seem, forever repeating …

Local is so universal, you know it’s true, you’ve been there too …

Local is so universal … Local is so universal … Local so universal …

Long In The Chains Of Patience

Desperate down times, ringing in the rains, of ancient change,

Lately we’ve been, too distracted, to remember, our own names,

Gainly are all, role reversals, when roles are all, worse off today,

Yet painful are all, those second guesses, of a self-inflicted fate …

Whether we were, out of sorts, or we were just, sorting it out,

In order for us, to burn the bridges, of doubt, must ride it out,

Must reign it in, when the temptation begins, to give into now,

Just when the feelings fade, come the tides, of renewal again …

Ever westward were we, destined to sling, our arrows and aims,

Severed from the path, of patterns unbreakable, we would regain,

Replacing those worn out, worries about tomorrow, with new hope,

Lower than the clouds fly, we would stand tall, with what we know …

The answer is this, with which we have held, all along, that old song,

Key to karma, path to all pardon, ladder to the sun above, below stars,

Harkening, in the universe, there must always be a shine, in the shroud,

A spark in the clouds, of lightning finally come, crashing all around …

Lifting us up so long, in the chains of patience, have we waited for rain …

How long in the shackles of shame, that we could not remake, yesterday …

So far into foreign terrain, that we were ranging lost ,any direction we made …

So torn apart, from the pages that we played before, we were never the same …

So long in the chains of patience, we would rise again, before the final days …

So tough, so stoic ,so unrestrained, in the poem, to be more potent, than plain …

So long in the chains of patience, so strong in confidence, solong unrelenting …

So long to those helpless places, we could not summon the faces of fortune …

So long in the chains of patience, we were born more stubborn than fearless …

Yet in the tears of distress, we rested our reckless bets, long enough just to test …

What it would take, by playing the long game, to arrive at a light, on the lake …

To finally find, a signal in the fog, of what we once knew, existed all along …

So long in the chains of patience, were were most dangerous, when we stalled …

We were more emancipated, of all misgivings, when were living, by the minutes …

We were more entitled, to outlasting our own expectations, when were measured …

Whenever we leveraged earnest reservation against urgency, making good in turn …

Big Strong Rain (Bring On The Change)

Hello, it’s been awhile, since you were young
But there’s still, some years yet, before sunset
Second guesses and near misses, never regret
Ever what was, was always time, well spent …

Tell it on the wind … Tell it in a quick cold smile …
Tell it in that long old mile … Tell it in your low style …
Tell what bothers you … Tell what stirs you up too …
Tell what ever rings true, for hollow goes out of tune ….

Big Strong … Rain … … … Coming On A Storm …
Never complain … … … For becoming reborn …
Never need saving … … … So much you run off …
Never deem it dire enough … To lose your touch …
Big Strong … Rain … … … Big Strong Rain … … …
Big Strong … Rain … … … Bring On the Change …

We can tell what portends … What’s important bends …
Bows not breaks, reminding us, what directions to take …
Leading us out of sorrow, by a helping hand of kinds …
Signposts in real time, impossible to find if too blind …

Sometimes we wander, sometimes lose grip on wheels …
Sometimes we saunter, so infused by what’s really real …
Some days we falter, some ways find us in worse shape …
Some days we halt here, looking for a light up in space …

Big Strong … Rain … … … Coming On A Storm …
Never complain … … … For becoming reborn …
Never need saving … … … So much you run off …
Never deem it dire enough … To lose your touch …
Big Strong … Rain … … … Big Strong Rain … … …
Big Strong … Rain … … … Bring On the Change …

But take shelter, if you must, before the winds, do pick up …
Take comfort, in the fact, that time passes, never give up …
Get up on your hind legs, letting go fear, before you break …
Now is no moment, to tremble so small, tower up today …

Plus pay credence, to the sun, for she always swings on,
Though it may seem, the rails have riden underground,
Though it might be, your ship has so, washed aground,
One day tomorrow, you’ll hardly recall, whatever went on …

Big Strong … Rain … … … Coming On A Storm …
Never complain … … … For becoming reborn …
Never need saving … … … So much you run off …
Never deem it dire enough … To lose your touch …
Big Strong … Rain … … … Big Strong Rain … … …
Big Strong … Rain … … … Bring On the Change …

Into The Night Of That Old Song We Drum

In the time between lost love and hope

loss by droves resolves itself into whole
holy spirits and tired lies never lie long
into the night of that old song we strum

Knights of harbinger ride on tonight so drunk
tangled up are all worries over tighter trunks
flights to freedom that we ever did redeem
desperate measures were forever for keeps …

Into the night of that old song we strum …
Into the night of that old song we drum …
Into the night of that old song we rung …
Into the night of that old song we lunge …

For it’s hard … to know … just what to do … sometimes
Some rhymes … go off key … some days … go in need
Some ways … we wander back now … beyond, onward
Whatever … were we ever … to be ones … born forward …

So I stand upon this cloud … So I scream so very loud now …
Out with hatred, in with solace … So let’s not let this soul pass …
Let’s live wisely with what we’ve got left, to unravel this mess
Meager not are all treasures of patience for those we so test …

Into the night of that old song we strum …
Into the night of that old song we drum …
Into the night of that old song we rung …
Into the night of that old song we lunge …

Sight is special for those who can tell now well
What wishes were to be remembered or sold
For simple is that solid slug, of fortune’s gold
Swivel will the fell, who never grew to get old …

Plight and plunder, peace and puzzle the same
Sometimes we’re troubled, sometimes to blame
For messing things up or getting it right on game
Despite all that happens now, it’s time to change …

Into the night of that old song we strum …
Into the night of that old song we drum …
Into the night of that old song we rung …
Into the night of that old song we lunge …

And if you were of second doubt … If ever weary of old teary eye
I would not hesitate to lift you up … For by our merits we survive
For you were one of the last who loved … We knew you were one
Of us who were never swayed for second best … Just at your turn …

And if you were one … who let all this nonsense, get you so down
You would be the only one … to be responsible for letting you down
For now and then we’ll come into the pen of predicament’s punishment
But all we sow is all we lose if we but just adjust with the moments …

In the time between lost love and hope
loss by droves resolves itself into whole
holy spirits and tired lies never lie long
into the night of that old song we strum

Knights of harbinger ride on tonight so drunk
tangled up are all worries over tighter trunks
flights to freedom that we ever did redeem
desperate measures were forever for keeps …

Into the night of that old song we strum …
Into the night of that old song we drum …
Into the night of that old song we rung …
Into the night of that old song we lunge …

Against The Darkness

Driving on home tonight, under a full moon now so bright
Right as we were drifting off, we snapped back alive on top
Drifting on out into the universe, between stars so crossed
We might as well be destined to dance despite every loss …

Lost and found, in heaven so bound, are we forever now …
Deliverance and salvation were never enough to forestall how
We all come to the ends of the line by the time we go down
But what remains is the sound of the rain against the shroud …

Against … The Darkness … Do we now go down …
Against … First light alike … Do we come around …
Against … That old cold front … Ever do we drown …
Just in time … To come alive … Before we hit ground …

Riding on into the eye of a storm, under a dull listless sky borne …
Driving across every desert of distress, it’s a wonder ever we kiss
It’s a wonder we love, a wonder from above, ever do we dismiss
Every little regret for just one more chance to live a little bliss …

Bless us not or bless us true hardly counts for what we do …
What we miss and what we caress all come to ties in tune …
For when we lie we show our minds in true equal review …
For renewal of life lies but in every time we arrive at you …

Against … The Darkness … Do we now go down …
Against … First light alike … Do we come around …
Against … That old cold front … Ever do we drown …
Just in time … To come alive … Before we hit ground …

Lighting this drum righting those wrongs everything all at once …
All those old memories all these new dreams of coming undone
Of finding at last those old goals we once cast aside under glass
Too much thinking always led to the leaving of who we were last …

Test us not or test us do whoever really minded was doomed to lose
Best is what we are when arrested by surprise inside our natural rules
Ruse or truth, calm or riot of muse, it all resolves into that baby blue
As we arise unscathed into the skies of those challenges we choose ..

We Used To Be More Human

So do you remember, so many years ago now …
When we got so excited then, by that old sound …
When were so entranced, by this modern dance …
That we now growl untold, is our new undoing …

So didn’t we … Seem to be … More human … Yesterday …
Than we seem today … Do you deem that we’ve changed …?
Something has turned the page … Something strange today …
And yet what we must, admit is this, it’s never time to quit …

Let’s get back to what it’s, all about, no giving up on verve …
Say hello now to, who you were, before we, lost our nerve …
We used to be, more certain … We used to be, more sure …
Used to be, more human … When we were worth it in turn …

We used to be more human … We used to be more human …
We used to be more human … When we were young in years …
We used to be more noble … We used to be more humble …
Used to be more full of fault … Yet willing to allow ourselves …

Used to be less cast in doubt … Used to latch onto higher clouds …
Used to clash not before the clause … That kept up our applause …
Used to reveal how shadows fell … Used to be more honorable …
That we would follow up any call … Leading us out from after all …

So didn’t we … Seem to be … More human … Yesterday …
Than we seem today … Do you deem that we’ve changed …?
Something has turned the page … Something strange today …
And yet what we must, admit is this, it’s never time to quit …

Then we encounter a ghost, from our distant past …
That reminds us when we flounder, we are so recast …
That when we falter we are all, altered at last to test …
Us, if we are willing to pass, into that future at last …

But what we find is, we come to get so accustomed into …
Settling for what is what, and what we must just accept …
What was once assumed, now lain to rest in every sense …
For what we need is but redemption, from our messes …

That we would follow any call … Leading us out from after all …

So didn’t we … Seem to be … More human … Yesterday …
Than we seem today … Do you deem that we’ve changed …?
Something has turned the page … Something strange today …
And yet what we must, admit is this, it’s never time to quit …

And now what we mind is, what we come to find untied …
Unwinding what we thought was real, ever seals the deal …
Ever steals what’s real, replacing our yesterdays with zeal …
For what might we yet recover, a new chance to seize steel …

Yes there’s no point in pretending, when we go so adrift
That we miss no point in bending, or being more swift
To rid ourselves of the right to so win, just since others sin
We all break the rules in time, we all all soon fall in line …

The Day The Distance Did Us In

The Day The Distance Did Us In

Before the web we wove we were more whole,
We were more folded into the higher way home,
We were more hopelessly romantic to the bone,
More helplessly unplanned and unscripted tomes …

Some say it was always like this things just change,
Some say it was never the same the days we wasted,
Warlords and pawns alike all know the cost of waiting,
For one more word one more world is all we’re fated,

The day the distance did us in we were still winning,
The day our fortunes turned we were still yet drifting,
The day the former fields of fidelity fell out of our favor,
Were the times we whistled into the winds less paydirt.

You were standing there and I was still staying over here,
You were so close tonight yet tomorrow gone off over fears,
Soon smothered by the proximity of another heart in tears,
So serious are those little moments we utter never a word,

This bridge we trust just as soon to cross as to have to jump,
Somedays stretches so long it’s hard to see one another yonder,
Under wonder what was really meant by losing grip of rudders,
We steered ourselves right apart just by forgetting each other,

The day the distance did us in we were still winning,
The day our fortunes turned we were still yet drifting,
The day the former fields of fidelity fell out of our favor,
Were the times we whistled into the winds less paydirt.
